Agreed to the Growth Hormone Stimulation Study :(

So after seeing the Endocrinologist at UCLA again on top of testing every morning and having random low sugar incidents, we've agreed to have the GH Stim Study. By posting on the M-cm FB site, we've also learned that other children with M-cm have similar issues and have been treated with Growth Hormone shots. Definitely not looking forward to the test, which will take place on the 14th of this month. Or the result, if we end up having to give him daily shots, but we need to know what is going on with his Hypoglycemia.

After we agreed to the test, I had chatted with a friend who has a little guy with different issues than Ian but it had been suggested he also do that study due to his lack of growth. She had done an hand bone x-ray to check something similar. I asked the doc about this... but she said absolutely not :( I guess we needed to do the study as soon as possible. She explained that if his pituitary is not secreting enough of the adequate hormones it could cause major problems in an emergency situation.

We will do the study. I'm already getting anxious about it but we'll get through it like all of the other horrible things we have gone through. Only this time I will be well prepared with as many World Word shows that will fit on the iPad.
