Cleaning up packing peanuts.

My sweet boy loves to lay in anything he finds pleasing. A box of cereal, a bucket of pens and pencils, or especially something like packing peanuts. Of course when I left a box in my bedroom it didn’t take long for him to find them dump them out and lay in them. And I’m cool with that because I know it makes him happy but it’s quite a mess! Especially these new awesome packing peanuts that dissolve in water. If you step on them they get stuck to your foot and get all sticky.

Of course after play he just left them all over my floor. And that was not gonna do. He really wanted to watch a show and I told him he could as soon as he cleaned up the packing peanuts. Usually I’ll help him because it was quite a mess. But this time I thought we’d already clean them up together a couple times so I thought it was time for him to do them on his own. The boy came out with the slightly filled bag of peanuts probably about eight times. We would go back in the room to see if they were done and of course they weren’t all cleaned up. I gave him some encouragement  told him I knew he could do it and left him to do his thing. Often times in the past he would just dump them out again and lay in them again. But this time, determined to get to that TV show, he stuck to it and cleaned up every single one of those peanuts! He was frustrated but he kept his cool and he continued until he was done.
