A good week :-)

So many have asked how things are going. I guess I've not posted for some time. Honestly, I'm afraid to jinx Ian's progress. It's been a really good week. He's tracking, interacting, holding things with both hands (he even held his bottle on his own today, as Lila reported to Daddy tonight).

He's now been out of the hospital for 3 weeks, maybe the longest time since first leaving I think. We are starting to do somewhat normal things. Lila, Ian and I met a good friend with her 2 kids at the Pinkberry in El Segundo to play in the water table. He then had his first grocery store experience at Whole Foods. It seemed quite fascinating to him!

We are just beginning to have PT and OT 2 times a week. Regional Center is picking up the 2nd visit that the insurance doesn't cover. We've got him holding his big noggin up too! Not for long stretches but for over a minute at a time. He's beginning to try to roll over and, after weeks of daily torturous tummy time, he's finally tolerating it and even smiling while there. All of our "workouts" are finally paying off.

It makes me want to cry just typing it out. It's almost like I'm finally seeing my sweet boy for the first time. Parents out there will know what I'm talking about when I say it's like he finally "woke up" although that usually happens much earlier than 5 months. We'll take it! I'm fine if he takes his time getting there, as long as he arrives.
