Ian update 4-7 finally able to hold him :-)

They pulled the tube out of his throat this morning. He's now using a cannula in his nose but what a relief to his throat!

I was able to hold him for the first time today. He felt fabulous against my chest. For much of the aprox 40 minutes in my arms, he was crying off & on but I was able to soothe him with shhing. My instinct was to rock him & sing to him but the nurse said it was better not to have extra movement and sound. As we know, he's a sensative guy.

Mike was also here for the event which was so nice.

We also heard his cry for the first time. It's very quiet and hoarse. Probably because his throat is so hoarse. The nurse let us know that he'll eventually wail, we need not worry ;-)
