So much progress and I'm delayed on the documentation of it. Ian is now spontaneously walking up and down our 2 front stairs on his own. This has been something I've been pushing him to do for at least a year and he's finally secure enough to go it on his own. So exciting! Of course with this new found independence and confidence he is also trying to walk across the street on his own, open the front door to take a walk, going for strolls in Target, etc.
Much of what he accomplishes, comes with a flip side. Things I have to appreciate while still deal with the frustrations of a more independent little guy. Today while I was opening the front door, I turn to look at the car where he and his sister often play for a bit when we arrive after our long days. And I find him standing in the middle of the street! I just about had a heart attack!
What I'm really hoping for is that sense of safety that many kids exhibit at around 2ish will present itself in him soon. For now, we have to keep a much closer eye on him and I need to find a good identity bracelet as well.
