Amazing therapists working with Ian

One of Ian's teachers at UCLA ECPHP left the program and is now just doing part-time consulting while she focuses on her professional running career. And she's amazing with him. Very different but she really gets a lot out of him. She's working with him just 2 hours a week but today I asked her to come into his classroom to work with him to model  how she works with him for his new 1-on-1.

Background on his 1-on-1, we had worked with someone remarkable before leaving to go to UCLA. When we left to go into the UCLA program, we had to give up working with her because she couldn't wait for us. She's now a teacher in another classroom here at Step by Step. When we returned at the beginning of January, he began with someone new.  I've been watching most days and giving her feedback for a couple weeks. Sadly she gave notice a couple weeks ago so now someone new is working with him so starting from scratch again.

I'm intense about my little love. He is not easy to understand. We work with so many fabulous professionals who help him progress I just want to pass the experiences on so these things can be worked on in school. So I make lists of suggestions and probably drive everyone a bit crazy. But I try to be as nice as I can about it. And thank them all profusely for being open to feedback and for caring for him so much. Most often, they say they love it and that it's really helpful. Hopefully they are not cursing me when they get home ;)

So I'm sitting in the office at school watching the wonderful Katja work with Ian while the fabulous Doris is happily watching and learning. I'm so fortunate to have all of these people in his life, all caring so much and really helping him. And we are lucky he's so lovable... which helps to cause most people working with him just fall in love :-) Sure make our lives easier!
