Off of most meds and treatments, while healthy :-)

We saw Ian's new Pulmonologist the other day. As Dr. Platzker mentioned might happen last time we saw him, Ian has now been taken off of Spironolactone, Lasix, Sodium and Potassium Chloride and breathing treatments unless he's sick. Hopefully the only thing he'll need when he's sick is Xopenex. Pretty major deal. Will be interesting to see how he does. I wish I could ask him how he feels and see if he'll feel any different but alas, it's not an option. We will see his Cardiologist in a few weeks as well. She mentioned last visit we might be able to take him off Enalapril. That would mean he's off of all meds! Amazing! I still have a load of supplements I give him no meds would be brilliant!

And the progress from the intensives is wonderful! He's taking a ton of steps on his own. I read to him and he takes a few steps to turn the page. Still not spontaneously taking steps but we are working towards that goal. And he's able to maneuver the obstacle course on his own, get off the platform swing, and get himself up the stairs and sitting ready to go down the slide by himself!

We are supposed to begin Pediatric Minds end of next week. We are extremely excited about that. We've heard so many terrific things about progress made in that program. We can't wait!

Have also been doing a little Parent/Child Swim at the YMCA. He fights some things and fusses a bit but overall, enjoys the class. Today he even let me push him under during the "Let's swim to teacher, teacher, teacher, just like that" song. He went under both ways and, although he seemed a bit shocked by it, didn't fuss! We do the class while Lila takes a group lesson on the other side of the pool. I really feel they would both benefit greatly from a private but that's not in the cards right now. These classes are pretty big so there's a lot of waiting around for her. But it is so much fun have the 3 of us in the pool together! And we're just taking it baby step by baby step so to speak ;-)
