I think it's the school influence and reinforcement at home because Ian is helping clean up! He'll put items in containers when I ask him to. He used to just pull them all out again. Def a difference in that skill.
He's also stacking boxes really well. When we play with these fabulous cardboard stacking boxes, he helps me stack them and even puts them on top up! He's doing really well with the picture puzzles as well, getting the pieces in correctly almost every time. I've taken most of the electronic toys away and he know spends a lot of time with his bead roller coaster. He's really mastered it and I'm thinking of looking for a more advanced one. I think it's really good for depth perception and maneuvering capabilities.
And for some reason, he's become obsessed with me saying the letter S. While I'm saying it, he studies my face and I swear tries to push out the sound afterwards. Nothing comes out but it seems as if he's trying to get it together.
Last week we were back at CME and he did terrific! We are not giving it up because our original therapist really suggests we continue. She's amazing with him. Unfortunately she's very pregnant and will be out soon. But hopefully after they have 2 more of our therapists trained, we'll be able to rotate in easier. Right now, we have to do it week by week for speech and PT/OT/CME. It's really crazy but it's all we can get for now. This Monday, before I realized he was getting sick, he did PT with 20 minutes on the treadmill. I swear his body is so ready to go if his mind would just let him. We will wait. It will come, this I know.
Unfortunately, he is also sick again. Hopefully it won't get to far out of hand. I've had him on Olive Leaf and Silvercillian since Monday. Along with the new freaky mix breathing treatment as well as his usual ones, ever 4. He doesn't seem as bad as usual but maybe it's just not hit it's peak yet. I've cancelled all appointments and just pretty much hung out at home with him.
Because he's sick it makes me nervous about taking the gTube out. Maybe I should wait until this season is over, like in April or something. We haven't been using it but I'm so nervous we will end up in the hospital again and need to give him something yucky round the clock. I'll see how the next month or two goes.
Next week is crazy full of appts. We have neuro, pulm, dentist, Regional Center and all of the usual therapies, although I've moved out OT as a priority for the next couple of weeks due to the lack of time and what he gets in school. Hopefully he's better by then and can take the craziness!
