School will do wonders for him!

Ian has begun his program at UCLA. He's now completed his 3rd day and it'll be a tough transition. But I know it will be great for him. He loves music but doesn't dig sitting for the whole circle time. He loves to eat but it drives him crazy to sit with everyone without eating their food after he's done with his. And he can't stand having his shoes and socks on. So we adjust. Fight through circle time and hope for his favorite songs. Give him slower-to-eat food for lunch. And they will allow him to take his shoes and socks off during circle time.

The trick will be the driving around after class to get him to fall asleep before his therapy sessions in the afternoon. It worked today but didn't go so well Tuesday. And picking up Lila in between. It'll all work itself out. Just crazy schedules he has. And I have to assess what we stick with and what we give up, if anything. He needs it all but maybe we can slow on the OT while he's in school. Although he's made so much progress there I'm not sure if I should. Def can't slow on speech.

Yesterday we met with another therapist at Pathways to have her assess whether Prompt would be good for him. She agreed that it would. So we have to work out with our current therapist to have her integrate it, although she's not certified in Prompt. We were trying to get into a place that focuses on Prompt but their schedule didn't allow for Ian to be added.

I showed them both the post from here on Feb 14 of last year when he said Momma... of course I busted out in tears seeing it. It was music to my ears. So beautiful. I'm really hoping to hear it again some day soon.
