Making progress but already falling prey to cold season :-(

I've been meaning to post an update. Ian's been making wonderful progress during his healthy summer! He's been pushing himself up to a sit on his own. He's had the ability to do it for a few months but never chose to without someone helping him get into position. I started telling him he had to sit up to have his milk (mean Mommy ;-) Who knows if it was that, or all the therapy and work we do with him, but it just finally occurred to him that he could do it on his own! Now he's crawling all over and pushing himself up when he gets to where he wants to be. Very exciting!

Now to the bummer news. He's picked up a respiratory illness. As I type this he's coughing up a storm and trying to get to sleep. I should pop in bed myself as I have to be up around midnight for meds and another breathing treatment. And last night was about a 3 hour nap for me. Between Lila's bad dreams, the dog chasing whatever wild animal was out back and Ian's occasional insomnia, I'm wrecked! I know, it can always be worse but I'm just tired. So off to bed for me.

Any positive energy you can send our way would be greatly appreciated. We are really hoping he can fight this one on his own at home with breathing treatments and steroids. Unfortunately, we know it's just the beginning of what he'll be fighting until April :-(

  1. Sorry to hear Ian is sick! Emmy is sick too. . .her first time, so a little scary. But all things considered, she seems to be handling it ok. She is coughing and sneezy and just overall phlegmy. She is very sleepy and sleeping alot, so we are thankful that she is able to rest. I knew the first time had to come eventually, and I am thankful that we got 7 months before it happened. Hope this isn't the foreshadowing of a long winter. Love to you and Ian.
