Here's a gem of a moment! Our little guy has been chatting up a storm and actually has one thing he is right on target with... saying mama and baba amongst other chatter. It's quite fun for the whole family! He also growls a lot which has given him another nickname of Growly Bear.
On the health side of things, we are trying to keep our heads above water with our health throughout the house. Ian has had a low -grade fever for the last week. Lila had strep throat at the end of last week and woke up with another virus this morning; a headache, fever and threw up all over the doctor's office! What a mess!
Ian's appetite has been strangely less hearty the last week as well which makes us a bit nervous. On the flip side, his oxygen saturation has been steady and the pediatrician says his lungs sound wonderful. We are hoping he'll just get back into his usually feeding again soon.
And we had to make an appointment with a dentist for him! His two top teeth are looking like they have a bit of decaying going on. Can you believe it! He's barely had them for 3 months. I don't get it. I'm thinking it's maybe all the meds he's on but the doc didn't think so. We'll see what they say. I'm really not looking forward to finding out how they expect to even look at those teeth. I'm lucky if I can get my finger in there with a wash cloth to wipe them down at night, and I'm his "Momma" ;-)
"Speaking the Same Language"
ReplyDeleteIt's gibberish to an outsider...context clues are everything...A single sound means many things...some words are created for the moment...A specialized vocabulary...missing letters...added syllables...
It's all music to the ears of a mother
As the child she loves begins to speak
As she gets to know a little better
this little person she brought into the world.
After all, they're speaking the same language-A language of love.
A mother understands what a child does not say...(Jewish Proverb)
Larry and I have been going through lots of "stuff" in our home...and I came across a book that my Mommy had given to me many years ago. I loved watching the video of Ian that you posted...so good to hear his little voice as well as yours and Mikes! I just wanted to share one of the pages from the book with you...hope you liked it!? :-)
Love always...~Pam & Larry~
