Off of oxygen... one more baby step.

Yesterday I arrived to see the face of my sweet boy, really, for the first time (at least half of it anyway ;-). He's now off of oxygen! He still has the feeding tube in his nose so there's still tape to hold that in place but the other side is clear of anything. Although his sensitive skin is quite irritated where the tape was. No surprise there. Just put a band-aid on me and I get a rash. My husband and daughter also have sensitive skin so he had no chance of escaping that. As long as his oxygenation stays in the high 90's to 100, they'll keep him off of it.

We had a good day of hanging out, singing, playing and nursing. He seems to be getting better at nursing each time we do it... not leaps but baby steps. At least it seems to be forward progress.

I had gone to my first Acupuncture appointment on the way in to the hospital in attempt to boost my milk supply. It hasn't started to gush yet but I'm hoping it will with a few more appointments. Even with all the Fenugreek I'm taking, water I'm drinking, protein I'm eating and pumping I'm doing, I'm not keeping up with him and my supply seems to be decreasing. Everyone says it's the stress and lack of sleep. I'm also trying to find a way to take a bit of time for myself which is quite a challenge.

After a good amount of the day with Ian,  Mike and I went on a date. We brought a little picnic to the park to spend a bit of quality time together. It was lovely and much needed. My sister and cousin were having a full day together with Lila. But we still saw her for a bit when we got home. So nice to have that break and to know that Lila is making wonderful connections with family.
