There's a bright side to everything.

We have been so fortunate to have many family members come into town while I was in the hospital as well as since Ian's been born. What's so lovely to see is the relationship Lila is building with so many that live far away. It's rather amazing! 

My parents have been here twice, two of my three sisters (the third is a school teacher, among many other things, and will be down in the summer) have as well and now my sister-in-law is here from Colorado again, after being here just before I went into the hospital. We've always worked towards building strong relationships with Lila and our families but this whole experience has escalated these relationships. And of course, the relationship with her Grandma Lona is so much more as well since she's became the primary care-giver to her while I was in the hospital. While Lila might be missing out on her Mommy & Daddy, she's getting so much more from our families than I ever thought possible and that warms our hearts.
