Ian's general ed teacher, Ms. Vincent, and his special ed teacher, Mr. B, are completely remarkable! We are so happy with how they have taken the time to learn about Ian and constantly communicate with me as to how things are going. He also has two wonderful Para-Professionals, 1-on-1's, to help support him during his school day. Ms. Vivi in the morning and Ms. Esme in the afternoon. And to top it off, a fabulous mommy friend of ours is his "break Para"! She is the mom to one of Ian's friends, Finn, who has Angelman's Syndrome. Finn is non-verbal and completely dependent on AAC to communicate. Which makes his mom a fabulous fit to support Ian! If she could just get a spot at WISH for Finn, she would work there full-time and be able to be with him half-day. Hoping for next year!
He is now at school with his sister, which is awesome for them and terrific for me! Right down the street! So much better than driving to SM. And now I'm able to really help out at the school more. As well being able to peek in on him all day long ;) I'm on campus a lot which makes it so nice to keep up with how he's doing. I always am running into teachers and paras who update me on how it's going with him in the various activities during the day. Such a wonderful school!
And his best buddy from preschool got in on the week school began. He's being kind of funny with him. I'm assuming because he's confused about the new combination of his friend at the new school.
