More perseveration and misspelled words

Something is different with my little guy and I can't put my finger on it. He's been perseverating (repeating himself over and over) since he could speak again but seems he's been doing it more lately, in the last month or so. And his spelling isn't always perfect just the last few weeks.

This seems silly to say about a 4 year old, right? But sometimes he's forgetting letters in words he really knows how to spell. Or he's adding extra s's to the end. This child is a letter & word boy. And if he's going to spell something, he knows how to spell it exactly. But just the last few weeks he's been a bit off.

Trying to think of changes we've made. The major thing is we are not following a gluten free diet. We are going to do a blood test for Dr. Hedayat which will do a thorough testing of how gluten might be affecting him and exactly where in his body it might, the brain, the gut, etc. I'm really looking forward to this. Of course at the same time not because I really think it will completely change my attitude towards gluten and make me very strict about it. But I want to know.

I've just been going off the generalization that special needs kids do better without gluten. So I've stopped it and he seemed to be doing great. Due to no gluten, not sure. And then there's a time here and there when he has it. And people tell me, if you even have a smidge it ruins the body you have to be 100%. Who knows!

We'll see. And I will be better about logging progress during the process.
