Low blood sugar morning and bad night

Not sure what's going on with Ian tonight, and I can't sleep at this point, so thought I'd record it here. He's been up crying uncontrollably 4 times. We've been able to get him back to sleep with a combo of breathing treatment, suctioning, applesauce, rice milk, reading and for the most recent time, tums and acetaminophen in a bowl of applesauce. Along with reading more Fox in Sox.

This morning (I guess it would technically be yesterday morning) he woke up at 6:30, which is way early for him. When he has a chance he could sleep anywhere from 7:30-10 or even 11 when he was sick the other day. But good thing he was up early because I tested his blood sugar and it was 43! It hasn't been that low since the first week he was on growth hormone. Very strange. Unfortunately tonight I didn't think to check it before we gave him any of the rice milk or applesauce. But when I finally did, just because I was trying to cover all my bases with temp and BS, it was only 97. Should have been much higher than that after so much sugar.

While he was unconsolable, I called the pediatrician's office. Not sure what I thought they could do to help but I just felt desperate. The doc on call was one that doesn't know us. She just heard him crying and said to go to the ER. Which of course I did not want to hear but had in the back of my mind as a next step. So thought I'd try one more doc. Paged the Endo on call for Dr. Lee. She called me back and while we were talking about the possibilities, he calmed down.

Hopefully, there will be no more incidents tonight. But we will def see Dr. Woo (pediatrician) tomorrow and will move up our upcoming appt with Dr. Lee (endo) to Monday next week.

Who knows with this complex boy!
