I always put off posting because I never make the time. But then I forget things that our sweet boy has surprised us with. I'm super tired, up way too late so I'll make it short.
He's plugging along using Proloquo2go on the iPad. I've been letting him explore so he can learn where things are. I've also been working to help him express himself when I feel he's trying to but not finding a way. It's a slow but steady process.
The amazing things he connects while going through this are:
- Achoo (connecting to a song Mike found for him by an artist named Achoo)
- Sick (to achoo, as if sneezing while sick)
- Days of the Week (to a song they do in class with the same name, goes through them and sings as clearly as he can)
- Actions/ Kiss or Hug (when he wants a hug or kiss from me)
- Actions/ Jump (when he wants me to jump and be goofy)
- I need my space (when he needs it, he gently "pushes" on my arm when he taps this)
- Food (of course this section is one that he does the best with and is able to find his way around)
- About Me (he loves this section, telling everyone when his birthday is, what his name is, that he lives in Westchester, etc.)
