Okay... first things first... Ian is saying "again"!!!! It's more like ann nang but close enough! I can barely stand it I'm so excited! I will do a proper recording and upload soon. For now, I am thouroughly amazed by this boy daily. We basically spent the weekend at the wonderful Skirball Cultural Center. They have a super cool Noah's Ark interactive exhibit, which is fabulous for kids and adults alike. And also enjoyed the art room, the rainbow arch (a soaking mister we all run through) the wonderful exhibit by Gary Baseman (whom we saw briefly while heading to the car). In addition there was a wonderful drum circle concert. So much fun!
We've been there a few times but this is the first time Ian actually was able to enjoy it! He was walking all over the place, almost running in his little way. We played with the puppets for quite some time, spent a ton of time in the pretend area where we had a long "meal" of stews and different veggie dishes and tea. His pretend play is so wonderful! In the game room he was using one hand to get the large pieces out of the oversized connect 4 game! Fine motor skills have come so far in the last year!
Both he and Lila are just so much fun right now. Mike and I are so fortunate to have such an amazing family... just such a joy :-)
And thank goodness for them because they make up for all of the other crazy silly stuff that has been plaguing us lately. So I already posted about our skunk problem that hasn't let us, although now we lock the dog in at night to try to avoid her getting hit but, it doesn't stop our yard from them. And of course the plumbing backing up. Let's see, a while back the dishwasher went out, after the plumbing, the water heater stopped heating. Ian was getting eaten up by some bug in his room, which they thought were bed bugs but later found out weren't (Thank goodness! We still don't know what it was but Lila and I scrubbed everything in the room and it seems to have gone, at least for now.) Yesterday, on the way back from Skirball, we got a flat on the freeway, which led to 3 new tires! It just seems the money, which hasn't been flowing in for a some time, is just flowing out like a river. Very stressful! Uncle, really. I'm ready for a change of tide where that is concerned... please? ;-)
