Ian finally began the program at Pediatric Minds last week. It's strange actually dropping him off at the door and leaving. Not being able to watch just yet and not really knowing what's going on with him. His therapist is Monica. She seems very nice and he connects with her. They don't let him crawl but they do have me leave the stroller for when they head outside for a walk. Just so he doesn't have to walk to the destination. But he's walking so much more now and def will have to in the program. Today was our first of having the program in the morning and PT & CME in the afternoon. Quite a bit to ask of this little man but he did it. He petered out a bit at the end of CME but not until the last 10 minutes was he really protesting.
I'm able to check a bunch of items of my to-do list, which is amazing. We have a meeting for most of his time there tomorrow and then will have 2 weekly meetings to attend while he's in. It seems interesting so far. I'm looking forward to being able to observe, which I can do after this input meeting tomorrow. You have to make an appt and it can only be 30 minutes but I'll take what I can get.
Friday I will be able to meet Lila's class at the Aquarium for their field trip and next week I will help in the class one day. It will be nice to have a bit of freedom to do a bit of that for the last month of school. It takes me about 25 minutes to get to PM from her school so I can only do an hour but at least it's something.
Ian has discovered he has a huge belly chuckle and he does it all the time now. It's hilarious. Sounds super fun but a little crazy at the same time. Hard to explain but he's so cute with it. I'll try to capture it and post. When he first started doing it I'd occasionally hear him do it in bed on the monitor. I was a bit nervous because a parent of another SN child had mentioned when their child laughs hysterically in bed it's a seizure. I'm not thinking it's that but will ask his neurologist about it when we see her this week. Now he's doing it all day long.
