Our sweet boy is 3! And signing "R"

I can't believe it was 3 years ago that I lay in the hospital waiting for my precious angel to be delivered. Not knowing what to expect with his health. Definitely not prepared for what lie ahead. It has been a very long and trying three years. But what an angel he has been through it all. And thank goodness for his remarkable sister, his wonder Daddy and all of the family and friends who have helped us through this beginning. You just can't know who is really there for you until you're in a situation like we've been in. And it's just amazing how everyone stepped up to help in so many ways. I have to thank all who follow his special life for your prayers, positive energy and continued support as well. Just a remarkable story, and just the 1st chapter.

We spent the morning in therapy: OT then PT then Speech. Afterwards picked up Lila and headed to the Aquarium to see the fishies and sharks. For some reason the sea has been a running theme in Ian's life and he's definitely taken to it. His Daddy will sure be excited if it's holds as he matures. Currently, one of his favorite books is a simple board book with sharks in it. And he's always loved fishies. So I thought our favorite aquarium would be the perfect place to spend the afternoon. And he loved it! No matter how many times I visit, I still love that place. We all do!

He was so entertained by all of the creatures. Most of all, strangely enough, by the sharks, which you will see in the video I'll post in a bit. He thought they were so funny swimming by. It was hilarious! And his sister helped the hysterics by saying "sharks!" to him over and over making him loose it even more.

We are having a party to celebrate this weekend. Daddy was out of town for today but will be here for the party. Will be a momentous occasion!

In regards to the "R".... I've been trying to learn as much sign language as possible because he's beginning to pick it up. We also need to look into alternative communication devices but that's another post. He's so obsessed with the alphabet that I've been signing as well as singing. And the trickiest of all letters is the R... which is the one he picked up! Crazy! He's super consistent with many of his signs now. He's realizing he can finally communicate and we can understand him. So exciting!

So here's to another 90 years of progress for our little angel :-)
