Today was a breaking point for me. As many humans might do, I come to them every once in a while. The combo of having my kids both more-on-than-off sick since mid December and then Mike and I getting hit with the flu, together, on the same day, after Lila had it a few days earlier. We were made incapacitated. Seriously had to get a sitter to put Ian to bed while we rested. Not only because neither of us could move without major pain, but also because we were really trying to avoid giving it to him. It was horrible. Reminded me of being on Magnesium, when I began this blog.
That combined with Mike's biz struggles. The man never stops working. Which is super tough on me and the kids. He does what he can to be there when he can but it's tricky.
But then there's "this little piggie" which I will explain. We have done the well knows rhyme with Ian every once in a while but lately he's taken up to taking his shoe and sock off, grabbing my hand, putting it to his foot and smiling that big wide cherub grin at me until I do it. And he wants it over and over and over again. Another things he's like that with is when he's done with his meal he'll stick his hands in his water and, again, smile at me until I sign "cold" and then "water" saying brrrrrr, cold water. Again and again and again. Oh, and one more thing that is really kind of sweet but odd at the same time. While he and Lila are in the bath, he'll grab my hands and bring them to Lila's face. He loves it when I wash Lila's face. So sweet!
And of course the two of them together are just the thing to bring me back to sanity. Lila has begun to read to him and he loves it! Just an amazing connection between them. And I believe I mentioned it before but they now do gentle head "donks" taps with googly eyes at each other. He'll reach over and put his arm on her shoulder and actually initiate it sometimes. Oh my so sweet :-)
Ok... off to try to recoup my senses ;-)
