MRI to be scheduled... and heart looks good.

Dr. Mc Comb didn't feel we needed to tap the shunt. He didn't find a reservoir to make it easier so he said it would have to be done with sedation. He said it was more important to get an MRI to see how his head and brain looked, and when he's sedated for that Dr. Borchert can get a shot of his optic nerve.

Because of the Megalencephaly, he wants to check how the brain is shaping up within his skull and that all is okay. He's feeling that his skull is enlarging adequately to accommodate for the excessive brain growth. It's clear to us that his skull is enlarging. The back of his head has pushed out in the strangest way and it started mid-year. Now there's an answer for it.

And I finally get it, kind of ;-) His Hydrocephalus was from his brain bleed, he was not born with is necessarily. So the shunt was needed. He showed us the ventricle size and how much they shrank after the shunt. His head did not stop growing, not necessarily due to extra fluid build-up (a shunt malfunction) but due to his brain growing faster than it should.

Hopefully it will slow, as Dr. Graham had mentioned it should around the next month.

On another note, his echo looked good. Dr. Jackie agreed we should let him try to grow out of his Sildenefil and keep his Enalapril up to his weight dosage. We tried to let him grow out of Sildenefil last year but then he contacted RSV. Let's hope this year he can avoid that one.

He is still congested from the 2nd or 3rd cold he's had since Fall has begun. On steroids for the third time :-( But that's better than spending time in the hospital. Hopefully, his immune system is getting a bit stronger as is his lungs and body. Only time will tell.
