I had an out of body experience the other day. Our absolutely adorably sweet big sister little Lila accidentally elbowed Ian's head today. I saw it coming and should have stopped it. She's so in love with him it's quite amazing. Problem is, as I've mentioned before, she's like a bull in a china shop. Always leaning on him to give hugs and kisses (only allowed on the side of the head) and wanting to cover him with blankets to keep him snuggly warm. She is one who loves to role play as well. She's constantly taking every item in the house and putting it into a box, a bag, a suitcase, whatever she can get her hands on, while packing for a "trip, picnic, sleep-over, tea-party, parade or whatever her beautiful imaginative mind comes up with at that moment. It drives me absolutely crazy but I know it's totally age appropriate. This time she was putting together a sleep-over in Ian's room. She laid out about 5 blankets, brought in all of her toy food and pieces of one of her tea sets. Then she requested Ian lay on one of the blankets, which I eventually complied with. I laid next to him to block anything coming his way. She snuggled up against him but kept getting up and down to bring him more things. One of the times she was getting up again, she knocked him with her elbow, not really hard mind you, but it just didn't look good. I freaked! I'm always on her about not leaning on him or handling him too harshly. I feel horrible because I don't want to squelch her love for him. I do rather encourage her when she touches him gently but it's rare she does.
