Made it through the first night.

These will most likely be shorter now that Ian's home. Not so much time available ;-)

We made it through the first night and are on to our second. Even with Lila up at my parents it'll take a bit getting adjusted. It's tough enough having a new baby but with the meds, dragging around the oxygen & pulseox, and feeding combinations, it's even more complicated. We'll get through it, we just need to find our groove, and fast before Lila get's home. Luckily, my Mother-in-law has been able to continue to help me because Mike had an all-day job yesterday. Also, the home-nursing director and the nurse that might be working with us came by for a bit to meet us and assess the situation. The nurse will be going to Ian's first pediatric appointment with me today.

A quick note on how they let us go. We met with the, Dr. Lazareff, the neurosurgeon who seemed really great. He said we could wait a couple of weeks and reaevaluate whether we would have to put a shunt in Ian's head. He said another couple weeks is not going to cause any damage and we just have to look for signs. If we do the ultrasound and the ventricles look like they are getting larger or the tension on the brain is getting worse, he'd suggest to do it. If not, we'll keep a watch on it.

Off to finish pumping and then try to get back to sleep for me.
