Ian's update 4-19

It's his 1 month birthday today and his due date was yesterday so he is officially term now!

In general, he's doing better. They lowered his Milrinone a bit last night and this morning. When the doctor came by during my visit, she asked what I thought about his skin color. I thought it looked fine but not sure if she did. Maybe it was a tad more blueish, not sure. We just tried to call the nurse on with him this evening to see how he's doing with the change but she was out for training. I'll call her when I'm up pumping later.

I talked to the nurse before I left and she mentioned the were waiting to book the swallow test. I explained we thought that wasn't going to happen until the OT person worked with him again but she said it was always the plan. I guess we must have misunderstood when they discussed it with us last Friday. I'll check with Dr. Anderson when I visit tomorrow to be clear on it.

Also waiting to hear back from the neurologist as to when he can meet with us again.

Overall, he looks good. His feeds are going up. I believe they are at 36cc's now and for full they need to be @ 60cc's so we're getting there. When I was visiting today his eyes did the shaking thing a few times which I hate to see. Will have to ask the neurologist about that when we meet next.

Have been referred to a place in San Diego called Osteopathic Center for Children and Families. Have been asking around to people in alternative medicine to see what they think about this type of thing for Ian. Will want to call them when Mike & I have a minute together during working hours. If anyone reading this has an opinion on this type of therapy relating to brain conditions, I'd love to have some input. Also got a name of a place in Santa Monica, from my Dad's acupuncturist, whom I'll also call.
